According to the findings of Ookla, India moved up three spots to occupy the 59th slot in median mobile download speed globally in May, up from the 56th spot in May.
According to the study from Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index, the median mobile download speed in India increased to 39.94 Mbps in May from 36.78 Mbps in April 2023. This increase was reported in India.
The global rating of India’s median fixed broadband speed fell from 83rd in April to 84th in May, a drop of one point from April’s position.

However, India’s performance in terms of fixed median download speed saw a little improvement from 51.12 Mbps in April to 52.53 Mbps in May 2023. This represents an increase from 51.12 Mbps in April.
According to the May Speedtest worldwide Index, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is at the top of the table for overall worldwide median mobile speeds. On the other hand, Mauritius boosted its position internationally by 11 places.
In terms of the download speed of fixed broadband connections in May, Singapore maintained its position as the world’s number one, while Bahrain moved up 17 places in the rankings.
