This week, Miniforum introduced the Venus series NPB5, a small mini PC suitable for a variety of household, office, and entertainment applications.
The NPB5 is propelled by an Intel Core i5-13500H processor with 18 MB of cache and a maximum boost frequency of 4.70 GHz. This processor’s reliability enables it to manage office tasks and basic video editing without difficulty.
The NPB5 is compatible with DDR5-5200 memory frequency and can accommodate up to 64 GB of memory. This is an improvement over previous iterations that were limited to DDR5-4800 frequency.
The combination of one M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD port and one 2.5-inch SATA HDD slot is sufficient for fundamental storage needs.

Its networking capabilities consist of two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces capable of network aggregation for improved performance. Additionally, it includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 support, which has become standard on newly released devices.
In terms of display and connectivity, the NPB5 includes two HDMI and two USB4 interfaces that support 4K@60 Hz. This allows for the simultaneous connection of up to four external displays, tailored to users with a multi-screen configuration.
The NPB5’s design is user-friendly; the top of the case can be pressed to open it without the need for tools, making it ideal for DIY projects. This feature is especially advantageous for users who purchase a barebone for customization. The NPB5 can conveniently squeeze into a variety of spaces due to its diminutive dimensions.
